And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? ~ Matthew 13:54 KJV
What are mighty works? Can we do them? Mighty works come from a supernatural energy flow from God that causes instantaneous creative change in the human body, nature or a specific situation. And yes, we can do them through the Holy Spirit working through us.
And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue: (10) And, behold, there was a man, which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him. (11) And he said unto them, what man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out? (12) How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days. (13) Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other. ~ Matthew 12:9-13 KJV
Jesus merely told the man to stretch out his hand and quickly there was an instant creative miracle. Where there was no hand the power of God created one. Many times we need to make sure we pray the correct prayer in a situation. If someone would have asked to heal his hand it would not have occurred because his hand did not need healing. It needed to be created. The muscle fibers, the tendons, the bone and the skin all needed to be created in order for his hand to be complete. This was a miracle. This is one of the 9 gifts of the baptism of the Holy Spirit in the category of the “Power Gifts“.
Jesus said unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. (8)And he saith unto the, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. (9) When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom. ~John 2:7-9 KJV
Changing water into wine is a miracle. He changed the nature of the water into another substance. This is because the gift of the working of miracles was in operation.
And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) (15) Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. (16) There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one. ~ Acts 5:14-16
Can you imagine that? Peter’s shadow could heal if his shadow touched someone. This is a miracle! He was so full of God’s love that whoever was near him it caused healing to occur. That is amazing! Praise the Lord!
When Jesus fed the 4,000 and the group of 5,000 people those were also workings of miracles. By simply giving thanks the food was multiplied and there were left overs both times.
Do you want to see miracles in your life? If you have a need you can start by giving thanks for what you have in your hands, lift it up to the Lord, bless it and watch it multiply. I have done this in my life when I had a need and it multiplied for several days until I had the money to purchase what I needed. Believe in his promises and in his word and your life will change.
