What is the Mystery of God?
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. Revelation 10:7 KJV
Today I would like to point out the mystery of God mentioned in this scripture. It says when the voice of the seventh angel begins to sound the mystery of God will be finished. So what is the mystery of God? We will discover what the Bible says about the mystery. Let us read what the apostle Paul told us in the book of Romans.
Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, Romans 16:25 KJV
Again the mystery is mentioned in this scripture from Paul. The simple truth or mystery that was revealed to us is the mystery of Jesus Christ. It is a mystery how the son of God was present with God in the beginning and he has now manifested himself to us after he was born of a woman. We know he was born from the virgin Mary. This alone was a mystery of how a woman became pregnant and delivered a baby boy. The prophets in the Old Testament spoke that a child would be born from a virgin and it was fulfilled.
If you have read the Bible you would also note that several other prophets in the Old Testament mentioned Jesus.
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: Romans 16:26 KJV
As we read in the above scripture, the mystery has manifested. The prophets spoke of him, the people who accepted him as savior have experienced him and are now testimonies that he exists. God has given all nations commandments and when we are obedient to the faith we see him manifest. Hallelujah!
Remember a prophet is a person that speaks what God has spoken. At the end of the first scripture in Revelation 10:7 it says, “he has declared this to his servants the prophets.” You and I are also prophets of the Lord. We have received the Holy Spirit and now we can help others know Him. The Spirit teaches us all things. Many people have information revealed to them from the Word of God. Some receive the same information which can confirm this to others. And yet others may receive some unique revelation that few understand. This is the same thing that happened to Paul. Paul’s revelation was so in-depth that Peter said some things are hard to understand.
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 2 Peter 3:15-16 KJV
Together we can know more of who he is because we share this revelation with others in the body of Christ and as other people share what has been revealed to them we have more insights and knowledge.
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. Revelation 10:7 KJV
We cannot forget to mention the part in the scripture that says, “the mystery of God should be finished.” What is finished? Well, in another post we mentioned 3 mandates the Lord himself has to accomplish for God the Father. So for the mystery to be finished at this point everything that was required of him must be complete by now. The first accomplishment Jesus did was he had to glorify God with his own body. He did this when he defeated death. He also had to transform the people who believe in him and the Father so they would be like him. They will be transformed into incorruptible bodies. This happens when the believers in Christ are received at His second coming. We will be like him, having incorruptible bodies that do not die and have increased knowledge. Jesus will no longer be a mystery to us because we will see him as he is. You can read more in-depth about his mandates here.
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4:17 KJV
Right now, we are like him in this world but we cannot see him. He is still considered a mystery but when we see him the mystery is finished and manifested. Does that make sense to you? We hope this has brought some clarity to these scriptures. Remember to check out the other link for more scriptures with explanations.
