Why is God Going to Release Satan after 1000 years?

Why is God Going to Release Satan after 1000 years?

Today we will go over a question that has probably crossed your mind once or twice upon reading the Book of Revelation 20. The title of this post has been a question that crossed my mind. If you have imagined what it would be like when the Lord Jesus returns I know you will have imagined a time of joy, peace and love. It seems like a beautiful picture of peace and prosperity with the Lord and all of sudden it is shattered with the thought of satan being loosed out of his chains. In my mind it makes the same sound like one of those old records makes as the player gets bumped or hit. Yes, the thought definitely stops you in your tracks!

And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, (8) And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. (9) And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. Revelation 20:7-9 KJV

In a recent post we briefly mentioned his release as well. Sometimes when we read a teaching or an article about the Bible we may miss some information. So this post will be focused specifically on this event to help you really receive this information into your heart.

As we read in those scriptures above we see satan will be set free and go and deceive the nations again. He is able to influence a huge number of people. The scripture states it is the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. This means there are quite a bit of people that will be deceived. He convinces them to go to the beloved city, the city is Jerusalem, to battle with the saints and the Lord.

You may have heard this is one of those “mysteries of God” and no one knows why. The truth is the mysteries are hidden for us not from us.

And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. Luke 8:10 KJV

It is given to us to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God. Before Jesus it was fine to say we did not know but since the Lord’s departure we were given the Holy Spirit, we can and will know the mysteries hidden in the word. The reason for satan’s need to be loosed is not a mystery. The scriptures let us know why.

Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. 1 Corinthians 15:24 KJV

For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 1 Corinthians 15:25 KJV

The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 1 Corinthians 15:26 KJV

We know the last enemy is death but before death is eliminated satan, the rebellious angels, and all the people who follow him must be revealed. As long as satan is bound he will not be able to influence people.

And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Revelation 20:10 KJV

When the Millennial Kingdom has run its course we read satan is cast into the lake of fire. The false prophet and the beast (antichrist) is already there. They were put there by the Lord Jesus when he descended at the beginning of his millennial reign.

Satan has been bound for a long time but as we see his heart is never repentant. He has and always will be the enemy of God and God’s creation, mankind.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44 KJV

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 1 John 2:22 KJV

As the scriptures state he was a murderer from the beginning, he is a liar and there is no truth in him. He denies the Father and the Son. He always has had a focus to eliminate the followers of God and destroy what God has created. After all, he wants all the glory for himself. The devil is a defeated foe and everyone should remember to take God at his Word. He will accomplish what he has set out to do. He will eliminate His enemies and all those who oppose Him. Amen!
