Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. ~ Acts 4:13

Isn’t it interesting that people saw a difference in Peter and John and they automatically associated that change with Jesus? This still happens today! When you have an encounter with Jesus you change. You become a different person because you have experienced the supernatural. You have tasted “the Word” and you will know it’s good just as it was written in Psalm 34:8. Through belief in Jesus we receive the presence of God known as the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is full of wisdom, knowledge and power from God the Father. Through the Holy Spirit we receive answers to questions, or situations that we need resolved or we are shown a flash of the future sometimes. Things that will happen so we can either be prepared or simply be encouraged if we need to when the time arrives.

In my own life I can tell you that I have had visions and sometimes dreams of future events. They can be events that will occur in a few hours to a few years. God decides how far in advance he wants to show you. I tell you these things because they change you. You realize that you have been with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Peter and John walked with Jesus for 3 yrs but after he was crucified they went back to doing what they used to do before…being fishermen. But when they experienced the power of following Jesus’ words to put the net in on the other side and fished so many fish that the net was breaking Peter instantly knew it was the Lord that told them to throw the net again.

On the day of Pentecost when Peter and John received the baptism of the Holy Spirit (the power of God), they spoke and people from different languages understood and they were able to show the power of God working in them. This was a sign that God was with them. They were different! After that they walked with courage and boldness and spoke with authority. Only Jesus can do that to someone! When you know God is with you you walk with confidence and people see it. Sometimes they know something is different with you but they can’t quite put their finger on it.

So if you haven’t had an experience with Jesus you can ask Him for one and let Him show you that  He is faithful to answer! A simple prayer to Him from the heart is all you need and your world will change. Thanks be to God! People will see the wisdom in you too.
