Confirmations in the Word
Yesterday, the Lord put an idea in my heart and I began to search the scriptures. I know there are scriptures that link to other scriptures in the Bible but this began with searching for those in the book of Revelation. This morning as that idea was still on my mind the Lord began to show me some similarities. So let me tell you what He showed me.
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. Revelation 6:6 KJV
The oil and the wine are symbolic for Israel and the New Testament believers. The four seraphim in heaven give an order to the angels to not hurt the oil and the wine. Even though the bowls or vials will be poured they are protected and will not be harmed by the Lord’s wrath and judgment.
And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. Acts 16:18 KJV
And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. Revelation 18:4 KJV
“Come out of her” is exactly the act of being cast out of the state of oppression. The woman in Acts 16 was possessed by an evil spirit and it was cast out.
In Jerusalem, the city which will also be known as Babylon, was captive and under the oppression of an evil spirit. The good news is the evil spirit will also be cast out.
And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. Revelation 6:13 KJV
Figs on a fig tree fall because they are ripe or when a strong wind shakes the fruit off before it is time. The stars are symbolic for angels. Before the time of harvest has come, the angels of heaven have come to earth to obey what the Lord has released. He has released judgment. Notice the scripture is pointing to a specific time. “Untimely” is referring to a time before the fruit is ripe, before a harvest is ready to give its fruit.
Even though the people of God will be on earth at the time the angels begin to pour out the bowls they will not receive the judgment that is being poured but they will witness the events.
In the Old Testament when the angel of the Lord passed the Israelites were not harmed including when they went through the plagues of Egypt. The people of God need to believe this is still possible during the end times described in Revelation. According to the scriptures, the church will be present for six of the bowls and trumpets. But be of good cheer, they will not harm you because the Lord is your shield. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So do not be afraid if you are present. Trust him.
For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. Exodus 12:12 KJV
The Lord executed judgment, it passed right over the Israelites and they were unscathed. In the end times it will appear to be no different.
These angels in verse 6:6 in Revelation will pour judgment specifically on the men and women that had the mark of the beast (the antichrist). Our job as believers is to be wise and not get the mark on us. In order to see the mark you must be aware of everything around you. Things tie in together. This is why we need to be in tune with the Holy Spirit. Not only will the Lord use the Holy Spirit to open our eyes but he will use the people around you to warn you. Do not be stubborn or rebellious. Be humble and let the Lord guide you. He is your helper.
I see the bowls being poured as a type of testimony to the people who may still be doubtful about the existence of the Lord Jesus. They will see “people” who are not affected by the plagues. These people will, of course, be the followers of the Lamb. Stay tuned for the next post! The Lord keeps revealing his mysteries.
