End Time Signs
There is a lot of devastation visible in the media these days. We see floods, fires, tsunamis and devastating earthquakes around the world. As Christians we view this destruction and we immediately know in our hearts that the Lord’s return is upon us soon. But not only are these signs visible but there are other scriptural signs that are evident. Today we will go over several of them.
* Collapse of Social Order *
The first thing we will notice is the collapse of social order. There has been an order in society for many centuries. It has progressed and evolved into what we saw until recent. I believe the first signs of decline I personally noticed was around 2017. This is when I began to see greater changes in society. If I were to give a timeframe I would say it was somewhat stable until the year 2020. Since that time social order has progressively gotten worse at an alarming rate. We are seeing lawless behavior is viewed as “progress”.
* Discontentment of Good Doctrine *
We are missionaries on the field and we have noticed the discontentment of sound doctrine. Ministering the Word of God has not always been so eagerly received in circles of religious people. We know and remember the times mentioned in the Bible when Jesus would teach the Word of God and the religious men would challenge him and say things such as he speaks blasphemy. We know this was a religious spirit he faced and we have faced this same kind of spirit ourselves many times. The bible tells us this is to be expected but we have noticed an increase towards rejection of truth.
Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 1 Timothy 4:1-2 KJV
With all the changes we see in society today there is definitely a depart from the faith and giving way to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. Instead of receiving the truth with open arms there is a voluntary choice to receive doctrines of devils with open arms.
* Collapse of Justice *
Even though we are seeing drastic changes in society today and this was prophesied, it is still difficult at times to see it unfolding in front of your eyes. People are falling away from the truth and accepting the lies. Of course, it will be the opposite of truth. Evil is called good and good is called evil. We know this is happening and yet we still can be shocked when we see it occurring right before your eyes. I would describe it as a “flaunting” of evil seen as good.
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20 KJV
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2 Thessalonians 2:3 KJV
* Immorality *
In the last few years we have seen a lot of topics relating to immorality and teaching doctrines that are contrary to the word. The apostle Paul taught the Christians in Rome about what happened to the people who denied God and preferred their own wisdom. Their imaginations became vain and their hearts were darkened to the point where they even dishonored their own bodies. Their natural affections were exchanged and began to go against nature. In todays societies people’s moral issue has turned into a delusion but they believe they have made progress.
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 KJV
Peter also had a lot to say about the times leading to the Lord’s return. The whole chapter is very detailed.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. 2 Peter 2:1-2 KJV
* You Are A Joke *
Through the Bible the Lord has revealed events and things that will occur in the world. We are seeing those events unfold and we are warning people to come into fellowship with the Lord. As we share these prophetic events to people we are the ones who are called the laughing joke. The crazy ones who have no clue because we are brain washed. We belong to cults that teach us conspiracies. You and I, as well as many others believe in the end times. This makes you “loco en la cabesa”. But God will deliver you just as he delivered Lot who was in the middle of those who commit lawlessness.
And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: 2 Peter 2:6-7 KJV
Lot was vexed daily in his soul. Vexed in the biblical dictionary is the Greek word “kataponéō”. This is described as tired down with toil, exhaust with labor, afflict or oppress with evils. I don’t know about you but we have certainly felt vexed in our souls in the last few years on the mission field. We have seen so much evil it makes us sick in our hearts. The only gratifying thought is as the Bible states think on those things that are lovely, things that are true and focus on heavenly things. Thinking on the Lord’s return brings peace and at the same time a desire and an urgency for his return.
* Neo-paganism *
Paganism has been around for a long time as well. Modern day paganism is known as neo-paganism. Contemporary pagan movements do not share a single set of beliefs or practices. These beliefs have roots in pre-Christianity but they remove certain values and leave others to fit and meet their ideals.
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 2 Peter 2:18-19 KJV
Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 1:7 KJV
* Nationalist Agenda *
Behind the scenes there is a national agenda. This agenda holds that each nation should govern itself without outside interference. This is also the theory that describes “imagined communities”, a type of collective identity that brings people together politically all made possible by the role of elites.
But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. 2 Peter 2:10 KJV
In order to make the kingdom of darkness succeed there needs to be order. If everyone is working together for a common goal then it is easier for the darkness to succeed. Churches have a difficult time working with other believers because they are so convinced their way is the only way. As long as this type of mentality exists in the church there is no way to overcome the evil that is rising. Ultimately, this is why the Lord has to return. As members of the body of Christ we cannot seem to work together like we are supposed to. When the Lord Jesus returns he will put in place his own government with like minded leaders as himself. Praise God! This will be a time of peace when He rules in his rightful position as King of kings and Lord of Lords.
