Imagination and Healing
Today I would like to show you how powerful our mind is when we put our focus on something. A few times I have referred back to the story of the Tower of Babel because it shows several powerful insights. Today’s insights are related to imagination. We were created to use our imagination but I think this does not get applied by the church either because it never crossed the mind or because other non Christian faiths have used imagination and meditation.
According to the Bible using our imagination is a principle of God and we need to use it for the kingdom of God. The church is supposed to be using this principle and receiving the benefits. Other faiths do it and are successful but they are not giving glory to God. As Christians, we know where this ability comes from. It comes from our Father.
I know certain things in the Bible can be difficult because we have seen other faiths apply some of these truths, so we may think – oh that’s taboo! We can’t do that thing. We need to be holy.
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 6:5 KJV
In the Old Testament we read an example of how the people used their imagination for evil. And on top of that they were all working as one. One mind toward one goal – to reach the heavens with the tower they imagined to build. The Lord had to confuse their language so they could not work together.
And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Genesis 11:6 KJV
Notice the end of the scripture states nothing will be restrained from them which they have “imagined” to do. We have limited ourselves in what we can do. The Bible states we have been created to have imaginations. What are you imagining? Are you thinking of something you would like to do but see obstacles instead? God calls you to do something for the kingdom and the first thing you may think is how would I pay for that? Or how would I get there? These are the types of thoughts that limit us for God’s calling. I know because I experienced this too. Praying in tongues, for example. Before I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit I heard other faiths practice this too. They put themselves in a trance and spin around in a circle all while speaking in tongues. I was very apprehensive to receive this gift from God. Once I learned that I could not receive anything from the enemy if I ask in the name of Jesus, this simple thought made it easy for me to receive my inheritance.
We are familiar with the wicked ways people used God’s given power. Why should Christians have a bad name? I realize we are not perfect by all means but we need to remember who we are ambassadors for.
We have been given the faith of Jesus Christ. This is not your faith it is His but we are blessed to be able to use it for good on ourselves and for others. When I was baptized in the Holy Spirit I experienced the gifts on myself first. I was then able to share this with others. This is one way to use our faith but I was also able to apply the faith given for healing.
We believe, have faith and expect to receive. We have heard this before have we not? So this is not anything new. But what if I told you to imagine your healing. Put yourself in a place of peace and think on God’s word. Meditate on what God says then use your imagination to heal your body. What you are thinking is lining up your soul with the Spirit of God. We know there is always a struggle between what we feel and what the Bible says you are. It says by the stripes of Jesus we WERE healed. We are already healed but we need our mind to line up with what the Bible states. The Lord is not doing anything new. He even said it was finished and went to sit at the Father’s right hand. We are simply appropriating what is ours. We are bringing what is in the spiritual realm into our physical reality. Here on earth where your senses can experience the truth.
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV
If we can have imaginations that go against God’s word this inhibits us from walking in God’s blessings. This also means we can have imaginations to enter into God’s blessings. Our mind can imagine healing and receive it. The Bible tells us all things are possible with God. Is it true or not? What are you believing? What are you thinking on? Expect to receive it!
* Healing Testimony *
I would like to share a testimony of a healing I received exactly in this way. One day I was having some pain in the base of my skull and neck area. It was so sore I wished that I could go to a chiropractor to get an adjustment. When I meditated and put myself in a place of peace I imagined my hands pushing the bones that were out of place in my neck and pushing them in their proper place. As soon as I opened my eyes, in an instance, it became a reality. I felt wonderful! Any pain I had was gone and it really felt like I had been adjusted. Praise the Lord!
This is one example of using imagination in a positive way. From something I imagined I was able to actually experience it in my flesh. If you need healing in your body I would hope that you will be able to change something that is ailing you into a testimony as well.
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 1 Peter 2:24 KJV
In this scripture it states we WERE healed. It is already done! So with your imagination and the faith of Jesus Christ put yourself in a place of peace to receive healing by simply picturing yourself whole. Create the image in your mind and then receive it by faith. God bless you and please share your testimony with us of your success! We are confident you will! We would love to hear your great news!
