It is done!

It is done!

Today I would like to review some scriptures that will uncover some mysteries. Many times when we read the Bible we may not always notice events that were recorded in the past will appear as judgment in the end times. I have been studying the book of Revelation and I found a little nugget you might be interested in seeing.

Lately, I have been noticing many things seem to repeat. People have said history tends to repeat itself if we do not know our past. I totally agree with this saying but somehow I guess I never thought it would apply all the way back to the first century. Look at this passage we may have read many times in the Gospel of John when Jesus was crucified.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. John 19:30 KJV

This was the very last moment when Jesus took his last breathe and died. He said, it is finished and he gave up the ghost. To make it clear he did not turn into a ghost. The ghost represents the Holy Spirit. He is also referred to as the Holy Ghost in the Old English language in which this scripture is found.

In the book of Revelation we read a voice from the temple of heaven also says, it is done. It may seem as a mystery who this person is but it is also our Lord Jesus who has spoken from the throne of heaven.

And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. Revelation 16:17 KJV

Now we may ask ourselves, what is done? The apostle John in Revelation chapter 16 is showing us seven angels have been given seven vials of wrath to pour upon the earth. These vials came from the throne room of heaven and contain judgments. In this passage the angel with the seventh vial of the Lord’s wrath has just poured out the vial in to the air. It would seem like he would kill the world if we do not realize what the vial is truly affecting. So I will briefly explain this a little further.

In the Bible Satan has been referred to as the “prince of power of the air” in Ephesians.

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Ephesians 2:2 KJV

Now why would he be called a prince? Is he a ruler? Well, if we go back to the beginning of the Bible in Genesis we read man was created in God’s image and he was given full authority and dominion over the earth and every living creature that roamed the earth. One big problem occurred. He disobeyed God and inadvertently handed over dominion of the earth to the fallen angel we know as satan. He, in essence, became a god of this world.

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:4 KJV

Since that time the enemy has been able to influence the inhabitants of the earth with his rebellious attitude towards God. He is a spiritual being and he is able to influence through lies. After Jesus defeated the enemy’s spiritual world, he could only make subtle suggestions and man would be the decisive factor. If he believed the lies of the enemy over God’s truth then he would be given power, an inroad. When mankind understands and believes God’s truth over the lies spoken then the person can walk in victory. This means the enemy has no place to hurt or effect him.

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. John 14:30 KJV

Jesus taught his disciples Satan had no power over him and once he went to the Father the enemy would also have no power over them. Throughout all the past centuries the enemy has been a negative influence on the inhabitants of the earth. They have been seduced to go against God and all that is truth. The seventh vial the angel poured in to the air is specifically aimed at the kingdom of the enemy. Giant boulders fell from heaven and crushed all the men who blasphemed God. All the judgment that fell on earth afterward displayed the vengeance upon the dark kingdom that has overtaken the world. This is why the Lord’s voice from heaven said once more, it is done. Shortly after this scenario the Lord is described descending to earth with his army. He will arrive on the Mount of Olives and place the antichrist and the false prophet in the lake of fire and then the Lord will bind Satan in chains for a 1000 years. The prince of the power of the air has been judged and this is why the Lord Jesus says, it is done.
