For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power. ~ 1 Corinthians 4:20 KJV

Just reading that scripture makes you feel the power in His Word! It is amazing to know that He has endued us with power. He lives in us and he works through us to reach other people. The kingdom of God is not about fancy or eloquent words or how good you can communicate about Jesus. It is in a demonstration of power in love.

We have a nature in us that desires power. If you have seen movies you know that many story lines show a person desiring power or they want to rule the world. This has been present in mankind for centuries but this is a type of corruption.

Many of us may desire to be or have a super hero in us. One that wants to save the world and those who are victims of villains. The hero that lives in us is Jesus. He wants to rescue captive people and free them from darkness. Darkness has power too but it’s deceptive and there is no peace in it. The way to combat it is with God’s power, His love. This power is the only way you can truly bring someone over from the dark side.

People who have dabbled in witchcraft understand power and have experienced it. When they receive Jesus they are so on fire because they understand the spirit realm. They already know there is a dark power but now they are experiencing goodness and peace through Jesus.

We have been given the key to do God’s work with power and it must always be grounded in love. It is found in the baptism of the Holy Spirit. If you want this gift the best way to receive it is to first receive God’s love, study the Word of God and understand how it was used and finally, ask for it. Read John 21, the book of Acts and 1 Corinthians 12 to know more. Seek Him and you will find this gift that is meant for all. Be blessed and know that you belong to the Kingdom of God in power.
