Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. ~ Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 KJV
~ Who is your buddy or partner? Jesus sent the disciples out in two’s. That is a good number because as you see one helps the other if needed. I have seen that be helpful in many areas of life even when it isn’t dealing with ministry.
When I used to body build, for example, we always worked in pairs. If one didn’t want to work out the other was there pushing the other to go. You know how that “flesh” can sometimes want to lead and stay home. When a person was tired and couldn’t lift anymore weight a partner could get two or more repetitions out. You pushed the body further than you originally thought you could do.
In the ministry that partner is very important as well. A person is constantly giving and giving and that can make you tired. The Lord is your partner that fills you up again so you can give of yourself. You may also have partners that are there to help you stay focused on God’s plan. The enemy is out there trying to distract you so your partner is a blessing.
Sometimes you can be on fire for the Lord and want to go out alone to do God’s work. Be patient! God will send you a partner too if you don’t have one so you aren’t alone. God is awesome!!
