What is My Purpose?
Today’s topic comes from a question we may have often found ourselves asking. When things go wrong or astray there are many who often have this question on their mind…What is my purpose? Many people go through life without knowing what their true purpose is. They may find substance abuse and other addictions to try to fill the void in their hearts. The only one that can truly fill the vacancy in your heart is Jesus. Many people have and will reject this truth but it is inescapable. It is the truth! 100%
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 KJV
Jesus is the truth and so much more. Once we leave this life there is still more to come. We are eternal beings created in the image of God. Our purpose is to reflect the image that God created you to be. For all of us it takes a lifetime to come close to His image. Jesus perfectly mirrors the character of the Father. Jesus once said if you have seen Jesus you have seen the Father.
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? John 14:9 KJV
Jesus spoke to His disciples and shared that if they had seen Jesus they had also seen the Father. Jesus is the perfect image of the Father. This is why it is so important that people accept Jesus. If they accept Jesus as the Son of God then they have also accepted God the Father.
If you do not mirror God who do you reflect? The blind lead the blind. There are those who have all kinds of sickness and people mirror them to the core. When you mirror someone other than God, in the Bible it is known as idolatry. Our purpose is to mirror God in every aspect of our lives, from how we speak to showing love toward others. Some of us are broken mirrors and yet others are like the circus mirror that reflect a distorted image. Jesus is the perfect mirror.
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 2 Corinthians 4:4 KJV
Many people mirror the god of this world but this is not anyone’s God given purpose but Jesus is the light and the image we should reflect.
Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: Colossians 1:15 KJV
Jesus is the image of the invisible God. And this is the One whom we should mirror and imitate. We have been given the Bible as a manual to learn to be like him.
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4:17 KJV
As he is so are we in this world. There are so many people who deny truths that belong to them. We have been given the faith of Jesus Christ and yet people have no idea of this particular truth either.
God is wise and He is the master creator. He has a wise, divine intervention for that creation, which is you. Satan will tell you the opposite and we know he will lead you astray. Yet, we can still follow him.
Adam and Eve were already created in God’s image but they were convinced they were not. This still happens today. Satan will tell you wisdom is found when you are away from God, independent of God and from worldly knowledge. The wisdom of the world is false prophecy. Wisdom is found in the Word of God and it is for humble people.
For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6 KJV
When we mirror God people around us can change for the better. Fear the Lord and learn His wisdom. Have a blessed day and tune in again for more insights!
